Copyright & Royalties
Who owns the copyright to my submitted artwork?
You retain 100% of full copyright and intellectual property rights to all artwork submitted through our portal. Submitting your work does not transfer ownership to Squarebash Ltd.
What license do I grant Squarebash when I apply?
By submitting your work, you grant Squarebash a non-exclusive, royalty-free, limited license solely to view, store, and review your portfolio to evaluate your suitability for our commercial products.
What is Squarebash's standard royalty rate?
Our standard royalty rate is 12% of net sales revenue per individual card sold. Any formal commercial collaboration will be finalized under a separate, mutually signed Artist Licensing Agreement.
Content Guidelines & AI
Is Generative AI permitted in submitted artwork?
No. We do not accept artwork created in whole or in part using generative AI platforms (such as Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, or Leonardo.ai) or algorithmic generative tools like Adobe Firefly and Photoshop Generative Fill for core subject matter. All portfolio submissions must be 100% human-created.
Which digital art programs and assistive tools are allowed?
We fully embrace digital art. You may use digital painting software like Procreate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint, and Corel Painter. Permitted tools also include custom/commercial brushes, textures, color gradients, standard image resizing/upscaling, digital layout tools, and standard 3D rendering where you designed the original scene.
Can I submit fan art, corporate logos, or celebrity portraits?
No. We strictly reject unlicensed depictions of pop culture characters, brand logos, public figure likenesses, and stock elements without an extended commercial print license.
What other content is strictly prohibited?
We reserve the right to reject content containing hate speech, discrimination, defamatory or illegal material, plagiarism, or hard-core explicit pornography.
Applications & Privacy
When will I hear back regarding my application?
Our first application round concludes on 1st October 2026, after which we will begin responding to applications. You should hear from us within two weeks from this date.
How long will you keep my application data?
We retain your application data for 6 months from the date of submission to review your work for current or upcoming collections. After 6 months, your data is destroyed unless a commercial contract has been executed.
Can I withdraw my application or request data deletion?
Yes. You can request the removal of your application and portfolio from our review database at any time by emailing info@squarebash.com.
What happens if my application is successful?
If your application is successful, we will notify you via email. This email contains the Artist Licensing Agreement which you will need to sign before we list your designs for sale.
What happens if my application is unsuccessful?
If your application is unsuccessful, then this means that we believe the work submitted does not align with our brand identity, or fails to meet the quality requirements for a commercial product. Don't worry, you are welcome to submit again with a different portfolio if you wish to be reconsidered.

How do I enter the Artist Royalty Promotion?
Follow @squarebash on Instagram and provide your correct Instagram handle when completing your artist application form at squarebash.com/apply.
What does the promotional winner receive?
Selected entrants receive a promotional royalty rate of 20% on net sales for the first three calendar months after their design goes live on squarebash.com.
